Both seminars will look at enterprising and innovative reading promotion
projects and initiatives, illustrated by experience from South Africa
(where 2001 is Year of Reading), Nigeria, Kenya and elsewhere in Africa,
the UK and North America. Special focus on engaging the book trade in
campaigns, and how these have reached out to the press, radio,TV and
the Internet.
The seminar series is aimed at publishers, booksellers
and distributors, librarians, educationalists, international agencies,
researchers, students and all interested in African publishing and book
development issues. Entry to the seminars is free to all LIBF2001 exhibitors
and visitors. A limited number of complimentary LIBF2001 entrance passes
is available on request to those who pre-register for the seminars -
please return the booking form overleaf as soon as possible.

The Zimbabwe International Book Fair is the leading book trade event
in Sub-Saharan Africa, enjoying the full support of the publishing industry
throughout Africa and of the international donor community. Last year
more than 300 direct exhibitors and over 2000 trade and professional
visitors from 31 countries attended.
